APC Wins Zaria, Sabongari Four Others Local Govt Seats In Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has so far won the Chairmanship seat in five of the eight Local Government Areas in Kaduna-North Senatorial District in the just concluded Council polls .

The party captured the seats in Zaria, Sabon Gari, Lere, Kudan and Kubau Local Government Areas.

It also won Igabi LGA, where its candidate Jabir Khamis has been declared winner by the Returning Officer, Dr Mustapha Musa.

Khamis polled 29,804 votes to beat his closest rival, Dr Ibrahim Yusha’u of the PDP who polled 10,865 votes.

Results of the exercise in Soba, Makarfi and Ikara, in the northern part of the state, are being awaited.

Malam Dayyabu Mohammed, Returning Officer for Kubau Local Government Area,declared Bashir Zuntu of the APC, who has 23,973 votes, as the winner.

Zuntu defeated Malam Isah-Rabiu Imam of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 9, 038 votes, and Isah Yunusa of (SDP), who scored 530 votes.

Mr Haruna Abdu, the Returning Officer for Kudan Local government Area declared Alhaji Shuaibu Jaja (APC) as the winner, having scored 18,129 votes.

He defeated Ibrahim-Shehu Doka of (PDP), who scored 16, 123 votes, and Umar Taba of the Labour Party, who had 1,844 votes.

Also, Alhaji Abubakar Buba (APC), who garnered 36,389 votes, was declared winner in Lere, having defeated Mr Dalhat Abu-Daddai (PDP), who scored 24,294 votes.

Similarly, Alhaji Idris Ibrahim (APC), who had 34,006 votes, emerged victorious in Zaria, at the expense of Alhaji Yusuf Sambo (PDP), who polled 14,019 votes.

In Sabon Gari, Alhaji Mohammed Usman of APC was declared winner, after scoring 32,405 votes, to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Abdu Bello of PDP, who scored 13,777 votes.
