Reality TV star Phyna has emerged victorious in historic first female celebrity boxing showdown against actress Nkechi Blessing, knocking her out in fourth round in early hours of Friday.
From opening bell, Phyna, smaller and slimmer of two fighters, sought to exploit mobility. She moved quickly around ring, landing sharp punches and using speed to frustrate Blessing.
Blessing responded forcefully in second round, stepping forward aggressively and engaging Phyna in frenetic exchange.
Third round was more measured, with both celebrities remaining conscious and neither able to produce decisive breakthrough.
Decisive moment arrived in fourth round as fight approached conclusion.
Phyna eventually found opening. Blessing was hit and went down flat on canvas. She was unable to beat referee’s count, bringing contest to end and handing Phyna knockout victory.
Following victory, Phyna revealed ambition to pursue professional boxing and immediately called out Etinosa for next fight.
Etinosa responded to challenge, declaring, “Challenge accepted.”
Phyna was also rewarded for victory, with Worldstreet, trading, gaming and entertainment platform, presenting her with N50 million.
Electric vehicle was also presented to reality TV star as part of prizes following victory.
