Men of the Bayelsa state police command have nabbed one of the suspected killers of Late SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, Rivers State.

The suspect, identified as Onyekachi Ikowa’,43 is the second in command to TuBaba of the dreaded Icelander cult group.

This was contained in a statement released Saturday, November 18 by the spokesperson of the command, CSP Buswat Asinim.

According to him, Onyekachi was arrested on November 18, 2023, based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa after participating in the callous murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim, in September 2023.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, CP Francis Iduh has charged Police Operatives to fish out any of his cohorts hiding in Bayelsa State and stressed that the Bayelsa Command under his watch would not be a safe haven for criminals to hide.

Recall that suspected cultists on Friday, September 8, shot dead SP Bako Angbashim.

The deceased police boss and his men were engaged in a fierce gun battle with a notorious cult leader in the area called ‘’Tubaba” when they reportedly ran out of ammunition.

In the absence of any reinforcements, the policemen beat a tactical retreat but unfortunately, the DPO who had suffered bullet wounds during the exchange was captured by the cultists.

In a gory video believed to have been released by the cultists, the dismembered remains of Mr Bako could be seen, while a voice could be heard mocking him.
