Nigeria’s Falconets have been knocked out of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a 1-0 loss to Colombia in the quarter-finals in Łódź, Poland.
Valerin Loboa scored in the second minute of added time to send Colombia to the semi-finals and end Nigeria’s hopes.
The Falconets were reduced to 10 players in the 77th minute after Kafayat Mafisere was shown a straight red card, a decision confirmed by VAR.
Despite holding on with 10 players, Nigeria conceded late.
The defeat ends Nigeria’s campaign after an impressive run that included a 10-1 win over New Caledonia and a 3-0 victory over England in the Round of 16.
Nigeria’s bid for a first semi-final appearance since 2010 is over.
