Troops of the 65 Battalion, Nigerian Army, working with the Nigeria Police Force and local vigilantes, have rescued two men abducted from a farm in Igbonla, Epe Local Government Area.

The victims, Mr Kelvin Okafor and Mr Alex Anato, were kidnapped on Friday, 4 September 2026 while working on the farm.

Acting on credible intelligence, the joint team moved in on the kidnappers’ location. On sighting the advancing personnel, the abductors fled and abandoned their captives. In the ensuing pursuit, one kidnapper was neutralised while two others escaped deeper into the forest.

Both victims were rescued unhurt and handed over to the Police for medical assessment, debriefing and further action. The body of the neutralised kidnapper was also transferred to the Police.

The Nigerian Army said it remains committed to intelligence-led operations with other security agencies to protect lives and property and deny criminal elements freedom of action across the country.
