The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a Nigerian man declared wanted in Niger Republic for allegedly killing his business partner.
The suspect, Mas’udu Saidu, was traced and arrested at Gulma town in Argungu Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson for the Command, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the arrest to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Usman said the suspect allegedly stabbed his 38-year-old business partner, Mas’udu M. Sani, to death with a knife in Niger Republic and fled to Gulma for cover.
The victim is said to be an indigene of Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Both suspect and deceased are Nigerians.
The PPRO said credible intelligence and sustained collaboration with international security agencies led to the arrest.
He said police launched a manhunt after the suspect was declared wanted by authorities in Niger Republic.
“Yes, we arrested a fugitive wanted in Niger Republic for stabbing his business partner to death. We are currently investigating him at the SCID,” the PPRO said.
He added that the command was working with the Interpol section under the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Abuja.
“His prosecution can only be determined by our Interpol section at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, because most of their duties deal with cases that have to do with cross border and inter-country crimes,” he said.
