The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Engr. Olufunsho Elulade as the General Manager, Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL) with immediate effect.

A letter signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, stated that the appointment took cognisance of the appointee’s integrity, selfless service and record of impressive performance.

Elulade, who was the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) before the present appointment, has over 30 years of Civil Engineering and Project Management expertise. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering (Structural Option) from the Polytechnic Ibadan as well as B.Eng (Hon) Civil Engineering with Project Management and MSc. Project Management, both from Greenwich University in London.

The new appointee has a strong technical and managerial background with senior level experience and cross-sector exposure, specialising in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Traffic Engineering, Highways and Transportation, Risk Management and Maritime Structures, among others.

He had worked with various organisations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom before being appointed in 2007 as a Deputy Director and Technical Advisor in Traffic Management at the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority LAMATA, a World Bank-Assisted Project for Lagos State Government. As a result of his diligence, he became the substantive Director of Roads and Traffic Management in 2013.

Engr. Elulade, member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and United Kingdom Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, has many awards, honours from both national and international professional bodies to his credit.

It is envisaged that the new General Manager will bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear in the management of the Agency to achieve the vision of the present administration.

The Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL) was established in 2006 to curb the incidence of the incessant collapse of buildings and civil engineering infrastructure, through testing of all construction materials for quality assurance.
