CP orders thorough probe, says children’s safety and dignity remain priority
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, in Onitsha over alleged child pornography, and rescued four children in connection with the case.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation on Wednesday, September 10, 2026, after a disturbing video allegedly showing the suspect using sex toys on a minor trended online.
The command, in a statement released, said it received a disturbing video of the suspect allegedly using a sex toy on a minor. The suspect is alleged to have used her daughter to make adult content that generates her income online.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the operation led to the rescue of four children aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 years, and the recovery of sex toys and other items believed to be relevant to the investigation.
“The suspect is currently in police custody as the Command intensifies investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons,” Ikenga stated.
He added that the husband of the suspect is also undergoing interrogation to determine if he has any connection with the alleged offence.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, described the alleged act as “unacceptable, particularly because it involves the exploitation and abuse of children who are incapable of protecting themselves.”
CP Ama has directed a thorough and professional investigation. He also ordered that the rescued children receive immediate care and protection.
Beyond prosecution, the Command said its priority is the safety, dignity and wellbeing of the victims. It will work with child-protection agencies and support organisations to provide care, counselling and other assistance required for their recovery. The identities of the children will be protected throughout the process.
The Police Command commended vigilante operatives, bloggers and residents who provided information that assisted in tracking and arresting the suspect.
Investigation is ongoing.
