Nigeria’s Falconets played out a goalless draw with China PR in their second Group F fixture at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Thursday at Arena Sosnowiec.
The result leaves Coach Moses Aduku’s side with one point from two matches and increases the pressure ahead of their final group game.
Janet Akekoromowei created Nigeria’s earliest chance in the 17th minute, while Kafayat Mafisere and Queen Joseph also came close.
Goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma was equal to China’s threats from Huang Jiaxin, Zhou Xinyi and Song Lijuan to keep the score level at half-time.
The second half saw both sides push for a winner. Nigeria’s best opportunity came in the 74th minute when the referee initially awarded a penalty, but the decision was overturned after a VAR review.
The Falconets will now face New Caledonia in Lódź on Sunday, September 13, knowing victory is crucial to advance to the knockout stages.
