A family in Akure, Ondo State, is in mourning after three siblings, including 11-year-old twins, were found dead near the bank of a small river at a farm around the Owena Army Barracks.
The victims were identified as Joshua Jonah, 11; his twin brother, Jacob Jonah, 11; and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah.
The children reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm on Friday, September 4, 2026, but later left the farm for home.
Their father discovered they were missing after returning home and raised the alarm, prompting a search.
The search ended in tragedy the following day when the bodies of the three siblings were found near the bank of a small river within the farm.
The incident has left the family devastated, with the loss of three children at once compounding the grief.
The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident, saying the command was investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Abayomi said the bodies had been released to their father for burial, while police continue to document the incident and investigate what led to the deaths.
