Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have foiled terrorist plot to cause havoc on commuters after neutralising explosive devices planted along Magami – Hannutara – Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The troops acting on credible intelligence, secured affected area and conducted thorough search, leading to identification of two spots where explosive devices were planted.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD, team was subsequently deployed, destroying one device and safely recovering and rendering the second harmless.
Military authorities said patrols and surveillance have been intensified in area to safeguard residents and prevent further threats.
The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious objects or activities to nearest security agency.
