The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to deepening security cooperation with China.
Prof. Audi stated this when he led principal staff officers on courtesy visit to Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E Yu Dunhai, in Abuja.
He said engagement was aimed at reinforcing bilateral cooperation and strengthening internal security, with focus on security collaboration, regulatory compliance in mining sector and human capacity development.
Audi commended harmonious relationship between Chinese Miners Association of Nigeria and Corps, noting that collaboration had yielded positive results in maintaining order.
In his response, Ambassador Yu said Chinese Embassy maintains strict zero-tolerance policy toward illegal mining operations in Nigeria.
Yu also lauded NSCDC boss for ensuring safety and protection of Chinese citizens residing in Nigeria.
He assured that additional training slots would be allocated to Corps in China to boost institutional capacity, following appreciation by NSCDC leadership for existing foreign training opportunities offered to its officers and men.
Ambassador further noted unique diplomatic synergy between two nations, which both celebrate independence anniversaries on October 1st.
Both leaders reaffirmed commitment to deepening diplomatic ties, fostering mutual economic growth and ensuring safe, secure environment for nationals of both countries.
