He said information gathered at the scene of the incident revealed that the immediate cause of the incident was due to ongoing renovation.

Oke-Osanyintolu explained that the structure had been marked by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) for evacuation and had subsequently collapsed.

“A total of ten (10) people are affected. All ten people, nine adult and one 17-year-old-girl have been rescued from the rubble.

“Having received pre-hospital care from the agency’s paramedics, they are now at Iga Iduganran primary health care centre receiving care.

“The remains of the building will now be leveled to ground zero while adjacent building will undergo integrity and material testing,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.

The permanent secretary added that the Shark team, LRU paramedics alongside LASBCA officials, LNSC officials, LASPPPA officials, LASAMBUS crew, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and Nigeria Police Force were responders presently at the incident scene.
