The Borno State Police Command has recovered a stolen Honda Civic 2003 model and arrested one suspect in connection with the theft.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, said operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) recovered the gold-coloured vehicle on Tuesday, September 9, 2026, at about 1800hrs.
Daso said the recovery followed a complaint by Abdulkarim Sani of State Low-Cost Area, Maiduguri, who reported the disappearance of his vehicle.
“Acting on the complaint, operatives of the SID commenced intelligence-led surveillance within the metropolis, which led to the interception and arrest of Umar Abubakar, 48, of Tashan Bama Area, Maiduguri, who was found in possession of the vehicle,” he said.
The suspect and the recovered vehicle are in custody undergoing discreet investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, commended the operatives and assured the public that investigation is ongoing.
