The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC has commissioned its first technology-powered self-service smart station in Abuja describing it as a milestone in the transformation of its retail operations.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Ltd., Dr. Mumuni Dagazau, said the facility reflects NNPC Retail’s commitment to innovation, convenience, operational efficiency and improved customer experience.
He commended the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, for providing the land and supporting the partnership that made the project possible.
The Managing Director, NNPC Retail, Mr. Huub Stokman, said the station demonstrates ongoing changes in Nigeria’s downstream sector and the Company’s determination to meet consumer demand for quality, speed and reliable service.
The 24-hour station allows customers to independently dispense fuel in exact quantities through self-service pumps.
It is also equipped with electric vehicle charging points, an automated car wash, a lubricant service bay, LPG dispensing and other lifestyle offerings. Management said plans are underway to expand the energy solutions to include Compressed Natural Gas, CNG.
According to NNPC Retail, the commissioning marks the beginning of a shift from conventional filling stations to integrated smart energy, mobility and lifestyle destinations, aimed at delivering a more convenient and technology-driven retail experience across the country.
