Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state announced the donation while receiving the pioneer management of the College at Government House, Sokoto on Tuesday.

He also said the state government will provide it with office accomodation as requested and also will renovate the temporary site located at the Technical College at Binji, so as to enable the new institution have access to technical laboratories for the conduct of practicals by students.

He added that an accomodation will be provided for the new college’s Librarian as requsted by the management team, just as he announced the donation of vehicles to it for its smooth take-off.

The governor canvassed for additional support for the college from individuals and corporate bodies as he observed that the institution needs much of such now.

He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the establishment of the institution in the state, noting the state is in need of it considering the challenges it face as a result of lagging behind in the acquisition of Western education by many of its citizens.

”The siting and location of the institution would go along way in sensitizing and providing the communities around with
access to education and development,” he added

In his address, the pioneer Provost of the College, Professor Faruk Umar Zaki, said as the pioneer team of the College saddled with the responsibility of steering its affairs, their vision is to start with giving priority to technical, vocational and entrepreneurship courses so that the graduates of the college will be self-employed and even employers of labour thereby reducing poverty and idleness in the country.

He commended the Sokoto state government for its giant stride in the education sector and also in the execution of various developmental projects across the state.
