The Iyahmo Divisional Police, supported by vigilantes and hunters, tracked the abductors following the distress call. Officers said superior tactics forced the kidnappers to flee, leaving all 11 captives nine men and two women unhurt.

Following the operation, they were taken to a hospital for medical evaluation before being reunited with their families.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, praised the collaborative effort of the police and local community security volunteers.

He assured residents that the command has intensified patrols in the area and remains fully committed to ensuring public safety.

Authorities are currently pursuing leads to track down the suspects who escaped during the encounter and have encouraged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities.
