The Oyo State Government has officially lifted the dusk-to-dawn curfew previously imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park.
The affected local government areas include Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo, and Atiba.
The decision, announced on Saturday by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, allows residents of the affected regions to resume their normal daily activities.
The curfew had been in place for several days, initially covering a 48-hour period starting June 24, before being extended by an additional 24 hours.
The measure was implemented to support intensified security operations following the abduction of numerous pupils and teachers during coordinated attacks on schools in Yawota and Ahoro-Esienle communities on May 15.
While the government has eased these movement restrictions, it emphasized that the broader security mission remains ongoing.
Authorities are continuing a collaborative rescue operation involving the military, police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Amotekun Corps to locate the victims.
The state government has reiterated its commitment to the safe return of the kidnapped individuals, noting that their rescue remains the administration’s primary objective as operations continue within the region.
