The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a 100-level student of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, who was found lifeless in a bush near his off-campus residence.

The deceased, identified as Favour Olaniyi, was a student of the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics.

His body was discovered on Saturday in a bush along FUTA North Gate in Akure, the state capital.

Police authorities stated that no visible marks of violence were observed on the body.

However, a bottle suspected to contain a poisonous substance was recovered at the scene, raising the possibility of suicide.

The corpse has been deposited at a morgue for preservation and further examination as investigations continue
