Public expenditure records indicate that the total sum was released across eight separate allocations to cover funeral costs for deceased officers during a period marked by persistent security operations.
The payments began with ₦55 million disbursed in April 2024 for the January–February allocation, followed by several transactions averaging ₦50 million throughout 2024 and 2025, culminating in a final ₦33 million release in December 2025.
The recurring expenditure highlights the heavy human and financial toll on security personnel actively deployed against banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and violent crime across the country.
