Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Monday evening paid a courtesy visit to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate in the June 20 governorship election, Ambassador Dare Bejide, at his residence in Ado-Ekiti.
The visit was part of the governor’s decision to reach out to all contestants in the election and seek their cooperation and input in the governance of the state.
Governor Oyebanji was accompanied by the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe. He was received by Ambassador Bejide.
The two leaders discussed issues relating to the development of the state.
Shortly after the official announcement of the June 20 election, the governor had spoken with the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and ADC, Dr. Wole Oluyede and Ambassador Bejide respectively, and promised to follow up with personal visits.
The governor had earlier visited Dr. Oluyede at his residence with some party leaders, before Monday’s visit to the ADC candidate.
Governor Oyebanji said his policy of inclusion is aimed at promoting unity, peace, understanding and mutual respect among citizens as key enablers for sustainable development and growth.
