The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence of victory after casting his vote on Saturday, August 15, 2026.*
Oyebamiji and his wife voted at Ward 9, Polling Unit 011 in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area.
Speaking after voting, he commended the turnout of voters and said the presence of INEC officials, voters and security personnel showed that the election was proceeding peacefully.
The APC candidate said he was optimistic as voting continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.
The election is being contested by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the PDP, Oyebamiji of the APC, ADC candidate Najeem Salaam and other candidates.
The poll is being conducted under heightened security, with personnel deployed across the state as voters elect the governor who will lead Osun for the next four years.
