The delegation, led by DIG (Dr) Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), a PSC board member and Chairman of its Standing Committee on Police Matters, will monitor the conduct of police personnel deployed for election duty across the state.

The Commission said the team would ensure that officers adhere to guidelines governing election duties and maintain professionalism before, during and after the polls.

The PSC said it was committed to strengthening public confidence in the electoral process by ensuring that police conduct remained impartial, rule-based and civil.

It urged all officers deployed to Osun to remain apolitical, uphold discipline and protect the rights of citizens to vote freely and peacefully.

The Commission warned that it would not hesitate to sanction any police officer found compromising the credibility of the election.

The PSC said the deployment was part of efforts to safeguard the integrity of the election and ensure that voters can exercise their franchise without intimidation.
