The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has flagged off the Basic Operational Field Tactics and Navigation Course (BOFTAN) 006/2026 in Abuja as part of efforts to intensify operational readiness.
The two-week intensive training commenced at the Centre for Civil Defence Studies, Abuja, with participants drawn from zonal and state commands across the federation.
The course is designed to produce tactically proficient, intellectually grounded and mentally resilient personnel who are conscious of legal frameworks guiding security operations.
It is aimed at bridging theory and practical field execution to enable operatives to act decisively and professionally within the ambit of the law.
Participants will be exposed to tactical map reading, field communication, legal frameworks, operational psychology and combat field craft, among other modules.
The initiative, according to the Corps, reflects the commitment of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to sustained training as a tool for strengthening competence and confronting emerging security challenges.
Under his leadership, capacity development has remained central to building a disciplined workforce capable of protecting critical national assets and supporting national security.
