The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said it continues to lead and coordinate search and recovery efforts following the crash of NAF ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
In a statement on Wednesday, NAF said the operation is under the direction of Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.
NAF commended the professionalism of its personnel and the support of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Police, NEMA, Ondo State Government, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders and volunteers.
“The NAF remains committed to pursuing the operation diligently and safely, in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, while appreciating Nigerians for their solidarity, prayers and continued support,” the statement said.
The ATR-42 crashed on Monday into a swamp near Igbokoda, Ilaje LGA, with 32 persons on board. No survivor has been reported so far.
