The gathering, which runs from Monday until Thursday, April 23, is themed “From Vision to Value: Accelerating Collaborative R&D and Innovation for a Sustainable African Energy Future,” and is designed to deepen cooperation in advancing sustainable energy solutions across the continent.

Key stakeholders scheduled to address the opening session include APPO Secretary General Farid Ghezali, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Bashir Bayo Ojulari.

The programme includes technical engagements such as facility tours, visits to research institutions, plenary discussions, and working sessions focused on strategic R&D initiatives aimed at improving innovation outcomes in Africa’s energy sector.

A cultural night and networking dinner are also part of the agenda, intended to foster stronger professional relationships and encourage collaboration among participating delegates.

NNPC RTI described the initiative as a clear demonstration of its commitment to advancing research, technology, and innovation not only within Nigeria’s energy industry but across the African continent.

Officials say the forum is expected to generate practical frameworks that will enhance joint research efforts and support long-term energy development across member nations
