….Operation Hadin Kai Exposes ISWAP Structure In Lake Chad Region, Unmask 38 ISWAP Leaders

The Nigerian military has identified dozens of high-ranking Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, commanders following a major intelligence breakthrough in the Lake Chad region of Borno State.

Following the intelligence haul, the military released public wanted posters featuring photographs and aliases of at least 38 suspected ISWAP commanders active across the Mangari, Metele, and Dogon Chukun axes within Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas. Among those listed is a high-value target designated as Abu Musa Al-Barnawi Baashuwa.

The breakthrough came after a series of successful counter-terrorism operations by troops of Operation HADIN KAI in northern Borno. According to military authorities, forensic examination of recovered technical devices, including a propaganda camcorder and digital communication equipment, exposed the identities, hideouts, and command structure of several senior insurgents.

As part of the intensified offensive, the military announced cash rewards for two key commanders.

“The identified terrorists leaders and key operatives include; Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa – Wali (Governor of ISIS West Africa Province), his Deputy/Amirul Jaish Muhammad Jidda (“The One-Handed Man”) and Hamad Abu Hanifa the Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP among others.

A ₦10 million bounty has been placed on Muhammad Jidda, an ISWAP commander of the Jaish Unit. Additionally, a ₦50 million reward has been offered for Ibn Muhammad, identified as a commander of the Amniyya internal security and intelligence unit.

“Operation HADIN KAI wishes to specifically draw the attention of the public to Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the ISWAP Wali, who remains the most wanted terrorist leader operating within the Lake Chad Basin. The military will offer a substantial financial reward to any individual whose credible and actionable information directly leads to his arrest. All information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and the identity of informants will be fully protected in accordance with established security procedures.”

The military urged residents of Borno and surrounding states to remain vigilant and provide credible intelligence, assuring informants of strict confidentiality as operations continue to dismantle remaining insurgent cells.

“Operation HADIN KAI urges members of the public to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts by providing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in locating and apprehending these suspected terrorist operatives. Members of the public are encouraged to report any relevant information through established security reporting channels or via 0708 498 8859. Citizens are strongly advised not to confront or attempt to apprehend the suspected terrorists under any circumstances.”
