In a major boost to primary healthcare delivery, the Katsina State Government has launched 267 functional Primary Health Care Centres across the state’s 361 wards.

The launch, which took place at Koda PHC in Charanchi Local Government Area, was performed by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda alongside the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Executive Director/CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr. Muyi Aina.
A tricycle ambulance was also presented at the event for distribution to the special PHCs established by the state government.
Governor Radda said the goal is to establish a special PHC in each of the 361 wards, with the centres operating 24 hours daily to improve access to healthcare.
The centres are equipped with essential medical equipment, solar-powered electricity and water supply to support continuous healthcare service delivery.
The initiative is part of efforts by the state government to reduce maternal and child mortality and provide timely emergency care and other essential primary healthcare services.
