The Kano State Hisbah Board has launched a statewide crackdown on immoral acts under a new initiative tagged ‘Operation Kano First’.
Deputy Commander-General of the Board, Mujahid Aminuddeen, announced the operation on Thursday, August 13, 2026, shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf donated 10 operational vehicles and 50 motorcycles to strengthen the board’s activities.
Aminuddeen said Hisbah personnel had already commenced patrols on major roads across the state and would sustain the exercise in the coming days.
“Those who go out doing different immoral acts in Kano should know that Hisbah has commenced ‘Operation Kano First’ and anybody caught will be arrested and face the wrath of the law,” he warned.
According to him, the mandate of the operation includes enjoining people to do what is right, shun bad conduct, and promote reconciliation among residents.
The donation of vehicles and motorcycles by the state government is expected to boost the board’s mobility and response capacity across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
Hisbah said the operation would be carried out in line with its statutory responsibility of promoting moral values and public order in the state
