Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have arrested a Milan-bound businessman, Philip Tunde at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The 38-years-old businessman was arrested with 4.80kg of cocaine concealed in shoe soles and bag railings according to a statement by NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi on Sunday.
Babafemi said Tunde was nabbed on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the joint screening point, Terminal 2, ahead of his Royal Air Maroc flight to Milan, Italy.
A search recovered 16 parcels hidden in the soles of eight pairs of trainers and canvas shoes, plus 195 wraps hidden in the railings of four travel bags.

The suspect claimed he paid N16m cash for the cocaine in the shoes, while the consignment in the bags was for his partner in Italy, saying he raised the money from compensation for a workplace injury that cut off two of his fingers in Italy.
