The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was wanted by authorities in N’Djamena over the murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.*
The Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu, said Abdoulaye was arrested by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau, NCB, Abuja on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area, Kano State, following coordinated intelligence operations.
According to the police, Saleh was allegedly tortured and killed on May 3, 2026. An international warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena on June 22, 2026, for Abdoulaye and an accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar.
Police said Abdoulaye, who is also linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, fled to Nigeria after the incident.
On August 14, 2026, she was repatriated to N’Djamena through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.
The operation was carried out by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to ensure she faces judicial process in Chad.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and coordination with Chadian counterparts, noting that the arrest and repatriation reflects the Force’s commitment to ensuring fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders.
