The father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has broken his silence following a violent family confrontation that sent all parties involved to the hospital.
Emmanuel Odiniya, in a voice recording now circulating online, stated that the incident was not born out of hatred for his daughter but rather frustration over what he described as her changed behaviour after winning the reality TV show.
He claimed that he made significant sacrifices and mobilised support from influential figures, including governors, to ensure her emergence as the winner of the All Stars edition.
According to the father, their relationship deteriorated after her victory, as she allegedly became disrespectful and physically aggressive towards him. He accused her of consistently refusing to grant him audience despite multiple appointment requests.
“During her time on BBNaija, I contributed a lot and stood by my daughter, and made sure people voted for her massively. After she successfully came out and won, she changed.
“Ilebaye stopped listening to me. I will book her 5 to 6 times in a week and she wouldn’t give me audience. I saw a lot of things going wrong with her. She doesn’t want to listen to anyone again, to the extent that her mother disowned her at some point.
The father also criticised his daughter’s lifestyle choices, particularly her alleged cosmetic procedures including facial fillers and a Brazilian Butt Lift, which he said she was too young to undergo.
“I told my daughter the nature of friends she’s making doesn’t align with our culture, but my daughter still wouldn’t listen. My daughter will go and beautify her face, a child of 24/25, go for surgery to beautify her face and bümbum.”
In a more serious allegation, Emmanuel claimed that Ilebaye had physically attacked him on two previous occasions, including an incident where she allegedly struck him with an air conditioner hanger until he bled.
Speaking on the latest confrontation, he alleged that the reality TV star insulted him and struck him first with a AC hanger, causing bleeding, before pushing him and breaking an electric lantern on his head.
“My daughter will insult to the extent that she will ask me, ‘Who am I? Am I a father?’ One day she took AC anger and h!t me with it till blood started gushing out of my body. Instead of her to run away, my daughter will face me as if she wants to beat me. That was why I was provoked, and determined I wouldn’t let it slide this time.”
He further accused her of neglecting him financially despite his health challenges, claiming that when he requested financial assistance for medical treatment in Dubai, she said she had no money. He alleged that he subsequently saw her spraying bundles of naira notes at a colleague’s wedding.
“And again, the way she was going with one of my sons — I have two sons, one is 14 and the other is 10, she adult£räted the one of 14 with substänce. I cried when the principal expelled him from school. I’m pleading with everyone to put me in prayers so Ilebaye can change for good…”
Despite all the accusations, Emmanuel maintained that he still loves his daughter and desires reconciliation, appealing to Nigerians for prayers
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed that all parties involved sustained injuries and are receiving medical treatment. The spokesperson disclosed that the siblings are under police protective custody while investigations continue.
