The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has conferred the appointment of National Youth Ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force on the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Flutterwave, Mr. Olugbenga Agboola, OON.
The appointment was presented on Monday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, under the International Youth Day 2026 – National Youth Security, Peacebuilding and Empowerment Initiative.
The IGP said the appointment recognises Agboola’s achievements as a technology entrepreneur and his role in building Flutterwave into a leading African fintech company, with contributions to innovation, financial inclusion and responsible enterprise.
According to Disu, the initiative is aimed at leveraging credible youth leaders to promote peacebuilding, cybersecurity awareness, entrepreneurship and civic participation, while discouraging cybercrime and other social vices among young Nigerians.
He added that the Force is committed to strengthening the technological capacity of young Police officers to enable them to investigate cybercrime and handle digital evidence effectively.
Charging the new Ambassador, the IGP urged Agboola to use his platform to inspire young Nigerians to pursue legitimate opportunities, embrace integrity and contribute to national development.
Responding, Agboola thanked the IGP and pledged support for youth empowerment, cybersecurity awareness and peaceful civic engagement.
