The Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with sister security and safety agencies, has commenced a comprehensive security and safety assessment across strategic locations in the state ahead of the planned visit of high-profile dignitaries.
The exercise began on Monday, September 7, 2026, and forms part of the Command’s proactive, intelligence-led strategy to identify potential vulnerabilities and reinforce operational readiness.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the assessment will cover designated venues, major access routes, critical infrastructure and other strategic locations.
It will focus on threat identification, intelligence coordination, access and movement control, traffic management, emergency response and protection of lives and property.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has directed all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to conduct assessments within their Areas of Responsibility and address identified gaps immediately.
CP Ama urged personnel to maintain vigilance, professionalism and respect for human rights.
He called on residents, motorists, business owners and community leaders to cooperate with security personnel and report suspicious activities.
The Command said it will sustain a heightened security posture before, during and after the visit.
