The Nigerian government has finally published a list of 48 individuals and groups allegedly linked to terrorism financing in Nigeria.
The list was released by the Nigeria Sanctions Committee, NIGSAC, on Saturday.
The publication contains names of individuals and entities suspected of involvement in terrorism-related activities, including persons linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ansaru and Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP.
Among those named is Simon Ekpa, a Finland‑based separatist figure associated with a faction of IPOB. On September 1, 2025, the Päijät‑Häme District Court in Finland sentenced Ekpa to six years’ imprisonment for terrorism offences after finding him guilty of inciting terrorism and participating in the activities of a terrorist group.
