Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has restated the commitment of his administration to ensure the availability of extensive healthcare facilities that would guarantee the people’s access to unhindered health care service delivery.

Dr Fayemi stated this in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday while receiving three ambulances donated by BUA Foundation to the State Government to boost healthcare delivery in the State.

He promised to rigorously pursue the agenda of his administration in transforming the state into one with extensive healthcare system.

Expressing gratitude to the founder and chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Governor said the gesture would prompt the commencement of Government plan to develop a coordinating mechanism for the use of its ambulances across the State.

He assured the group that as part of the State framework of engagement and relationship with development partners, the State government would put the ambulances into effective use to serve the purpose that it was solely meant for.

The Governor, accompanied by Special Adviser Development Partnerships and MDGs, Margret Fagboyo, Senior Special Assistant Public Health, Dr Jimlas Ogunsakin and the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mr Akinjide Akinleye, commended the foundation for staying focus on its $100 million investment agenda for both Nigeria and the rest of Africa in enhancing social-economic development of the region.

“I want to thank you, immensely for this, I want to state to you that as part of our own frame work of engagement in our own development relationship partnership, we want to assure you that this would be put to effective use.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Ekiti State, I want to thank BUA foundation, and also to the focus that you have put into this $100 million agenda and I have seen beneficiaries across board up to the latest work you did in Imo state, this is something you are doing across board and you have demonstrated your passion for social development in Nigeria. Thank you and we look forward to continue partnership with BUA foundation and ASR funds.”

Earlier, Abdul Samad Rabiu who spoke through the Managing Director of ASR Africa, Mr Ubon Udoh commended the Governor for demonstrating strong commitment to issues that are of interest to the people of the State.

He revealed that the foundation had plan to spend an investment fund of $100 million annually on varieties of developmental initiative including health care to support the social development of Nigeria and Africa.
