Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to maintain a perfect start to the Premier League season.
The Blues stunned the home crowd early as new signing Morgan Rodgers volleyed them ahead in the 2nd minute.
Arsenal thought they had equalised in the 12th minute but VAR ruled Ezri Konsa offside. The Gunners got their goal in the 25th minute through former Chelsea striker Kai Havertz. Declan Rice slipped him in, and Havertz cut right before firing a low shot in at the near post.
Five minutes into the second half, captain Martin Odegaard scored what proved to be the winner. Christos Tzolis played the ball in and with Havertz dummying, Odegaard slammed home to make it 2-1.
Mikel Arteta’s side now have nine points from three games and sit second in the table, level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea, who beat Fulham 3-2 and Brighton 4-3 in their first two games, drop to fourth with six points.
