Nnorom, a finance executive with over 40 years of experience, is a long-standing member of the UBA board. The bank said his appointment is aimed at ensuring continuity and experienced leadership as it expands operations across Africa and international markets.

A veteran of the financial services sector, Nnorom previously served in executive management at UBA for eight years. He held key positions including Group Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director of Finance, Risk and Group Executive Office, and Managing Director/CEO of UBA Africa.

His leadership at UBA Africa was credited with strengthening the bank’s pan-African footprint.

Outside UBA, Nnorom has led several major organizations. Since June 2017, he has served as Group Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Holdings, overseeing investments in energy, power, technology and real estate. He was also President and CEO of Transnational Corporation Plc, Transcorp, from 2014 to 2017.

His corporate background also includes senior management roles at Diamond Bank, NUB International Bank and Liberty Merchant Bank, where he built expertise in risk management, human resources and regulatory affairs.

Nnorom is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He holds management credentials from Templeton College, Oxford.

He is scheduled to officially assume office as UBA Group Chairman on August 21, 2026
