The Edo State Healthcare Regulation and Monitoring Agency, EDOHERMA, has sealed Divine Blessing Basic Health Clinic in Ikpoba Okha LGA, over alleged regulatory breaches.
According to EDOHERMA CEO, Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide, the facility was found operating without qualified medical personnel, with poor infection prevention and control, open trading at the reception, and involvement in training auxiliary nurses.
Inspection also revealed the clinic was providing general outpatient and antenatal services without valid regulatory authorization, leading to the suspension of clinical activities.
The management was directed to register with EDOHERMA, address the deficiencies, stop training auxiliary nurses, and employ qualified professionals before it can be considered for reopening.
In a separate case, Rhemalite Spring Hospital, Ugbowo in Egor LGA, was investigated following a complaint and photographic evidence of its Matron presenting certificates to auxiliary nurses. The hospital denied the allegation but could not produce its last payment receipt for Ministry of Health registration.
Urhoghide issued a verbal warning and directed the hospital to commence revalidation with EDOHERMA and ensure its signage reflects only approved services.
She warned that under the EDOHERMA Law 2025, any facility found training auxiliary nurses will be sealed.
