The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed additional 1340 new cases of COVID19 across the country even as the confirmed cases etched closer to 150,000 mark.
With Thursday’s new cases, Nigeria now has a total of 136,030 confirmed cases out of which 110,449 have recovered and been discharged.
Unfortunately additional 14 people lost their lives to the virus on Thursday taking the death toll to 1,632.
Thursday’s cases were reported from 21 States and the Federal Capital Territory,FCT even as the FCT reported the highest for the day with 320 new cases followed by Lagos State with 275 and Rivers with 117.
Other States with new infections are ; Oyo-100, Akwa Ibom-57, Ogun-51, Ebonyi-48, Benue-44, Adamawa-42, Imo-38, Kwara-35
Gombe-32, Kaduna-31, Edo-29, Osun-29
Kano-24, Ekiti-15, Katsina-14, Delta-13, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-10 and Sokoto-3
According to the health agency, Thursday’s discharges include 824 community recoveries in Lagos State, 448 in the FCT and 142 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
