Nigeria has continued to witness a steady rise in the number of coronavirus cases, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,NCDC reported 1565 new cases.
The health agency disclosed this in a late-night tweet on thursday, saying the new infections were confirmed in 24 states and the FCT.
According to the NCDC,Lagos recorded the highest with 807 new cases followed by FCT with 236 new cases.
Other States with new cases are Kaduna-79, Oyo-57, Plateau-47, Rivers-37, Katsina-35, Edo-30, Sokoto-30, Delta-26, Kebbi-23, Ondo-20, Enugu-18, Abia-17, Ogun-17, Benue-16, Bayelsa-15, Bauchi-14, Niger-13, Kano-10, Borno-6, Imo-5, Ekiti-4, Osun-2 and Jigawa-1.
Following the new cases recorded across the country Nigeria has confirmed a total of 95,934 coronavirus cases out of the over one million samples tested since the outbreak of the disease in February 2020.
NCDC reported that 314 community recoveries were discharged in Lagos State, 158 in Kaduna State and 84 in Plateau State taking the total recoveries in the country to 77,982.
Also 6 people lost their lives to the virus in the last 24hrs taking the death toll across the country to 1,330.
