Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has announced that he now tested negative for COVID-19 .
Last week, the governor tested positive for COVID-19 after a close aide also returned positive.
The Governor who said he was not showing any symptoms went into isolation and started treatment.
While addressing Journalists at the Government House,Makurdi on Wednesday, the Governor announced that his samples came back negative .
Governor Ortom appreciated the people of the state, his friends and supporters across the country for their prayers during the period of his self-isolation.
He also thanked his deputy, Benson Abounu, and encouraged the people of the state to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.
