Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has signed into law Osun State Park Management Bill recently passed by Osun State House of Assembly.
Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed in a statement on Monday said the signing ceremony was held at the Government house in Osogbo.
According to him, the move formally restructures management of motor parks across state and proscribes activities of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Osun State.
Speaking after signing, the Governor described the new law as a significant step towards modernising state’s transportation system and addressing long-standing challenges within motor park sector.
While commending the House of Assembly for its proactive approach, the Governor said he was convinced that the legislation offers best solution to recurring crises affecting park operations in the state.
He assured stakeholders that implementation of law would begin immediately, adding that government would ensure inclusiveness and efficient service delivery in line with provisions of new legislation.
