…Investors Must Respect Master Plan, Says Wike At Expo 3.0
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared Abuja fully open for business, while assuring local and foreign investors of government protection.
He also issued a stern warning against land speculators and regulatory violations.
Speaking at the opening of the Abuja Business and Investment Expo 3.0, Wike said the administration’s ongoing infrastructure expansion and land administration reforms are positioning the nation’s capital as a premier investment destination in Africa.
He stated that investors must demonstrate technical capacity, financial strength, and integrity, while strictly adhering to the Abuja Master Plan and environmental guidelines.
The Minister disclosed that the FCT ranked fourth nationally in the 2025 Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council’s Subnational Ease of Doing Business assessment with a 61 percent performance score. He added that the territory is targeting an even higher ranking.
Also speaking at the event, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Emomotimi Agama, proposed innovative financing tools such as an FCT Infrastructure Bond Programme and Real Estate Investment Trusts to support capital projects.
Group Managing Director of Abuja Investments Company Limited, Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, said the expo has evolved into a dynamic platform driving concrete investment partnerships.
