The Abia State Government has announced the resolution of the issues that led to the recent ASUU strike at the State University, ABSU Uturu following the intervention of Governor Alex Otti.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed this on Monday.

He said the government has paid outstanding check-off dues owed to the union.

According to him, the new salary structure and relevant allowances have also been processed for payment with the August 2026 salary.

The revised salary scale for non-academic staff has also been processed for payment within the same period.

Kanu said the resolution has paved the way for the restoration of normal academic activities at Abia State University, ABSU.

The government said workers’ welfare remains a priority and reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue with labour unions to sustain industrial harmony in the state.
