The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma, Professor Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin has approved the rustication five students for a period of two semesters.

The VC’s approval was conveyed in the school’s news bulletin signed by O.O Ohikhena, Deputy Registrar (Senate) on behalf of the Acting Registrar.

Ohikhena listed the rusticated students as Musa Abraham, Department of Sociology, Obhaluagbon Nosakhare David, Department of Civil Engineering, Ehizokhale Favour Abu, Department of Civil Engineering, Chukwuemeka Prosper Orevia, Department of Biochemistry and Omogui William.A.M, Department of History and International Studies.

He did not, however, give reasons for the rustication of the students.

He said the students were rusticated for two semesters with effect from the second semester of 2022/2023 academic session.

The Deputy Registrar (Senate), also added that the affected students’ results would be held for four semesters during the period of rustication and would be released after the second semester of 2024/2025 session.

The rustication letter read thus: “I am directed to inform you that the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof A.S Adagbonyin, has, on behalf of Senate, and in exercise of the powers conferred him by the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Law 1999 (as amended) and other regulations enabling him to act in that behalf, has approved that, the underlisted be rusticated for a period of two semesters.

“Accordingly, you are hereby rusticated for two semesters with effect from the second semester of 2022/2023 academic session

“For the avoidance of doubt, examinations taken and work done during the period of rustication should count since you were not on suspension.

“However, your results have to be withheld for four semesters of rustication, in which case, your results would be released after the second semester of 2024/2025 session.

“By copies of this letter, all relevant university organs and your sponsor are being informed for their information and necessary action.”
