A fire has engulfed a mechanic workshop on Oladunni Street, Isheri-Idimu, in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, affecting about 21 vehicles.
The inferno reportedly broke out around 3:05 a.m. on Friday, October 30, near Eternal Filling Station, raising fears that it could spread to the adjoining petrol station and nearby buildings.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its response team, alongside the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the police, successfully contained the fire and prevented a wider disaster.
According to LASEMA, no lives were lost and no injuries were recorded, although a section of a nearby building sustained minor damage.
The fire was completely extinguished, with damping-down operations also concluded.
