The clearance missions, conducted on Saturday, spanned from Magarya to the Dutsi general area of Zurmi Local Government Area.
The troops diligently discovered and eliminated bandits’ hideouts situated in Keta, Gidan Galadima, Modawa, Mazuma, and Dutsi villages.
It was gathered that the troops engaged the dangerous terrorist group at Keta and Dutsi camps owned by Turji.
According to the source, he said the troops exhibited superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to flee deeper into the bush.
As a result, 23 kidnapped victims, predominantly women and children, were rescued,” the source revealed.
Furthermore, the troops successfully seized a rocket-propelled gun bomb, military radios, and a quantity of ammunition.
Bello Turji, a notorious warlord operating from the Fakai forest in the Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State, has long instilled fear among the residents of Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina States.
