Yobe Govt launches non-interest loans for 101 communities

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has launched the second phase of the non-interest loan Community Revolving Funds (CRF) for one hundred and one (101) communities across the 17 local government areas of the state.

The loan according to the Governor is an investment sourced by the state government for communities and farming groups to expand agricultural development and strengthen the role of communities and the management of their environment for economic prosperity.

He revealed that the occasion is another milestone achieved by the state government to support one hundred and one (101) communities with two million, five hundred and ninety-five thousand US dollars.

The governor urged the benefiting communities, and farmer groups to take good ownership of the funds and other government programmes for maximum benefit to justify government investment in such projects.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the state coordinator of Agro Climate Resilience in semi landscape (ACReSAL) Alhaji Shehu Mohammed informed the gathering that the loan was designed to support rural communities and farmers groups in undertaking investment in agriculture.

In his remarks, the national coordinator of ACRESAL, Abdulhamid Umar, said they are happy to see that the people of Yobe have accepted the project and have a complete understanding of all it entails.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Maryam Aliyu and Babagana Garunguna appreciated the Yobe State Governor for the revolving funds loan given to them and promised to utilise it for the purpose intended.
