Former Governor of Anambra State and an elder statesman, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has described the Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as a young, vibrant and enterprising politician whose track records of breaking political jinx has been legendary.

Dr Ezeife disclosed this on Saturday while playing hosts to the governor at his Abuja residence.

‘Even with my years and cultivated experience in politics, rarely have I seen the consistent traces of Yahaya Bello politically.

“He dares the odds, pushes his conviction and remains stoically with his aspirations. He has broken many jinxes politically, a feat that should be of keen interest to politicians and who -would-be politicians.

The former Governor who lauded Yahaya Bello for having a mind of his own, commended his effort and contribution to the growth and unity of the state and Nigeria in general.

He noted that the intervention of Governor Yahaya Bello in resolving the impasse between the amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle dealers of Nigeria and some groups in the south-west that led to the food blockade in March was timely and a fascinating display of proactive leadership.

Dr Ezeife said in the affairs of Nigeria, the only means of everlasting peace and unity is when equity, fairness and justice prevails in the democratic system noting that no region or zone is superior to others.

The Elder statesman asserted that the youth which constitutes the larger demography have critical role to play in strengthening our democratic system and good governance and he is excited that Governor Bello is leading the drive.

He further charged the governor to remain steadfast in providing security and other infrastructure for the people of the state.

In his response, Governor Bello thanked Dr Ezeife for his commitment to nation-building and his words of advice to young leaders in Nigeria while praying to God to protect the Elder Statesman with good health.
